How To View Performance Data In Your Google Business Profile
How Do I View Performance Data In My Google Business Profile?
Looking at the performance data in your Google Business Profile (GBP) is very easy to do. Here’s how:
To access your GBP page, head to www.google.com/business/ or business.google.com. They will both take you to the same place. Once you’re signed in, you’ll land on your Google Business Profile account page.
If you’re concerned about fluctuations in your GBP interactions, such as fewer calls or clicks, you may also want to explore potential changes in Google’s search engine results that could affect visibility.
Key Steps to Viewing Your Performance Metrics
Click on Performance to open a new window with tabs for the following metrics:
- Overview: These are all the interactions with your Google Business Profile.
- Calls
- Messages: If you’ve enabled messages, stay logged in and respond quickly, as Google tracks response times.
- Bookings: Shows data if bookings are enabled through your GBP page.
- Directions: How many people clicked on your address for directions.
- Website Clicks: Number of clicks on your website from your GBP page.
Above those tabs, you will see a box labeled Time Period with a range of dates displayed inside. The default setting is the last 6 months’ worth of data. That is what is displayed on the Overview when you open it.
→ If you’re using Google Local Service Ads (LSAs), check out our guide on optimizing LSAs for further engagement strategies that can work alongside your GBP metrics.
How Do I View Year-Over-Year Data In My Google Business Profile?
You can also look at year-over-year numbers by changing the date range in Time Period. In order to get the most accurate data, though, the month that you’re viewing must be over. Otherwise, you will be comparing an incomplete month to a completed one.
For example, we’ll look at the February numbers. You simply double-click February and click Apply. This will give you the numbers comparing it to February of last year. Now, each of the tabs will display the information from this date range.
Quick Tips for Using GBP Data Effectively
- Review Monthly: Regularly check metrics to track trends and respond to shifts in visibility.
- Encourage Customer Interaction: Reviews, messages, and bookings indicate high engagement, which Google rewards with greater visibility.
- Coordinate with LSAs: LSAs are a strong complement to GBP, so try synchronizing these efforts.
